John Everett Millais

John Everett Millais (1829-1896) was a British painter and one of the founding members of the Pre-Raphaelite art movement. Millais was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his use of bright, intense colors.At the age of 11, Millais became the youngest student to be admitted to the Royal Academy Schools in London. In 1848, he and a group of other young artists founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, which sought to create a new style of art that would break away from the academic tradition of the Royal Academy.Some of Millais's most famous works include "Ophelia," "Christ in the House of His Parents," and "The Blind Girl." Millais went on to become one of the most celebrated artists of the Victorian era, and his works had a profound influence on the development of modern art.
