Albert Marquet (1875-1947) was a French painter known for his Fauvist works and his depictions of Parisian cityscapes. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he became friends with Henri Matisse. Along with Matisse and André Derain, Marquet was a member of the Fauvist movement, known for their use of bold, bright colors and loose brushstrokes.Marquet's paintings often depicted the urban landscape of Paris and its surrounding areas, capturing the energy and atmosphere of the city through his unique use of color and light.
