Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg (1783-1853) was a Danish painter who is known for his significant contribution to the development of Danish and European art. He is considered the father of Danish painting and the founder of the Golden Age of Danish painting. Eckersberg studied under Jacques-Louis David in Paris and was greatly influenced by Neoclassical art. He later moved to Rome, where he became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts and continued to develop his skills as a painter. Eckersberg's works are characterized by their attention to detail, light, and color, and his ability to capture everyday life and scenes from nature. His work had a significant impact on Danish art and inspired many other artists in Europe.
