El Lissitzky (1890-1941) was a Russian artist, designer, and architect who played a significant role in the development of the Suprematism and Constructivism movements. Born in Russia, he studied in Germany and Switzerland, where he was influenced by the art of the Bauhaus and the Russian avant-garde. In 1919, he returned to Russia and began working with the Suprematist group, creating dynamic geometric compositions that rejected traditional representation in favor of abstraction. He also became a key figure in the Constructivist movement, working on projects that emphasized the integration of art and technology, including book and graphic design, typography, and exhibition design. Throughout his career, Lissitzky experimented with various media, including painting, sculpture, photomontage, and architecture. He was a versatile artist whose work influenced numerous artists and designers in the 20th century.
