Frank Dicksee (1853-1928) was an English painter and illustrator who specialized in historical, mythological, and literary scenes. He studied at the Royal Academy Schools in London and became a member of the Royal Academy in 1891.Dicksee was known for his highly polished and detailed paintings, which often featured romanticized depictions of beautiful women, knights, and mythical creatures. Some of his most famous works include "Chivalry," "The Two Crowns," and "The Funeral of a Viking." His paintings were popular with collectors and his illustrations were widely published in books and magazines.In addition to his work as a painter, Dicksee was also an influential teacher and served as the Director of the Royal Academy Schools from 1924 until his death.
