Collection: Henryk Siemiradzki

Henryk Siemiradzki (1843-1902) was a Polish painter known for his historical and mythological scenes. He studied at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg and later in Munich and Rome. His works were influenced by the academic style and the classical art of ancient Greece and Rome.Siemiradzki's most famous paintings are his large-scale canvases, which include "Nero's Torches" and "Christian Dirce," both of which depict dramatic scenes from ancient mythology. He was also known for his vivid use of color and attention to detail.In addition to his painting, Siemiradzki was also an accomplished theater set designer. He designed sets for theaters in Warsaw and Saint Petersburg, and even directed a few plays himself. Siemiradzki's works can be found in museums and private collections around the world, including the National Museum in Warsaw and the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
