Collection: Jean Honore Fragonard

Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732-1806) was a French painter known for his Rococo style paintings. Born in Grasse, France, he studied under François Boucher and later became a member of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture. Fragonard is best known for his playful and romantic scenes, featuring lush foliage, delicate colors, and intricate details. His most famous works include "The Swing" and "The Stolen Kiss", both of which depict playful lovers in lush, idyllic settings. Fragonard's style fell out of favor with the rise of neoclassicism, but he remained popular in the 19th century and continues to be admired for his mastery of light, texture, and atmosphere.
